UAE Jiu-Jitsu Team Shines at World Championship

The UAE national jiu-jitsu team won seven medals at the ongoing World Championship in Heraklion, Greece, showcasing their preparation and skill. Notable wins include two golds, three silvers, and two bronzes, reflecting the team's hard work.

The national team in jiu-jitsu, under the guidance of Mubadala Investment Company, won seven medals (two gold, three silver, and two bronze) at the Jiu-Jitsu World Championship, which is currently taking place in the city of Irbil, Iraq, and will continue until November 4.

The two gold medals were won by Omar Al-Suvadi in the weight category of 56 kg and Khalid Al-Shuhaib in the weight category of 62 kg. The three silver medals were secured by Balkis Al-Hashmi (45 kg), Zayd Al-Katari (56 kg), and Muhammed Al-Suvadi (69 kg). Aisha Al-Shamsi (45 kg) and Maisa Al-Sharif (48 kg) won two bronze medals.

The General Secretary of the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation, Fahd Ali, stated in an interview: "The achievements of our athletes and the successful acquisition of a significant number of medals strengthen the chances of the national team to retain its title." The training and preparation periods had a decisive importance for honing the athletes' skills, improving their physical and mental readiness.
