The ministry stated in a Wednesday statement that the boat departed from 'one of neighboring countries... carrying 50 illegal migrants, including 21 Egyptian citizens, 18 of whom are still missing and three have died.' It added that coordination is underway with Greek authorities to repatriate the bodies of the deceased. Greek state television 'ERT' reported that a wooden boat carrying 50 migrants capsized on Saturday during a rescue operation in the marine area of Kaloi Limenes off the northern coast of Crete. The Greek news agency 'ANA' indicated that Sudanese and Egyptians were on the sunken boat, including minors. According to the latest figures from Greek authorities, the sinking of the boat resulted in the deaths of four of its passengers, including a 28-year-old Sudanese woman.
