Continued Displacement from Santorini

About six thousand people left the island of Saintorini on the third day of evacuation. Authorities decided to temporarily cut off water and electricity across the island due to the fire, which engulfed large parts of the territory.

A light refreshment plane departed for the nearby island of Milos to evacuate residents. Mayor of the island of Saintorini Giorgos Shoukkas stated that the fire is moving to new areas and is at risk of affecting even less populated areas.

The critical moment, according to him, will be at a specific time in the evening. "The situation is very severe, the fire is extraordinarily large," the mayor emphasized.
