A migrant boat sank off the Greek island of Samos, resulting in the death of a man and a woman, according to the Greek national news agency AMNA. During the search and rescue operation, 22 people were saved. The exact number of individuals on board and their nationalities could not be determined.
"Greece has become a crucial point for the flows of irregular migrants and refugees to the European Union since 2015," highlighted the Xinhua news agency. Over the years, hundreds of people have lost their lives in dangerous sea crossings in this region.
